"The story of a team sponsored by a mineral color pigment factory in the lower Piedmont region of Alessandria. Biagio Cavanna started the first school of cycling in Italy after being blinded in one eye in a cycling accident. His facility was built between Pozzolo Formigaro and Novi Ligure to train thoroughbred riders: powerful, tireless, and brave, each in his own way was pitted one against the other, but the overall focus was on cycling's greatest goals: to win all the prizes, win that Coppa Italia, the team time trial, to aspire to the ultimate role of domestique of Fausto Coppi, and to be part of the cycling myth all together.Training with him was the equivalent of a diploma issued by the brilliant masseur himself. Included are other heroic cyclists from the 50's, Giovanni Meazzo, called, Meassen, Luciano Parodi called Paruden (u rugnen), Elio Di Maria called Maia and Sergio Lugano called Luganen, and many others who were lost the fog of those pastel colors of Itlay's iconic cyclists. Some were forgotten only because of thier humble stature. The author - Luciana Rota has been a freelance professional journalist since 1996. She is also editor of the website www.cyclemagazine.eu, responsible for"Eexternal Relations" of the Cycling Museum Madonna del Ghisallo in Magreglio (Como), editor of www.lepaginedelvino.it. She collaborates with Rai Two (TV program I Signori del Vino). She is one of the founders of the Circolo Velocipedistico Alessandrino and has collaborated in the archival research on Alessandria, Città delle Biciclette (Palazzo del Monferrato in Alessandria). As an author she has published sports manuals for Fabbri: Cycling, Mountain Bike, In Line Skates, Snowboard, Immersions ... and for Daniela Piazza of Turin an essay "My life with Fausto" from the intimate diary of his wife Bruna Ciampolini Coppi.
